The following are the official IELTS Test Dates for 2020 in both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training Tests. Mark these IELTS Exam dates in your calendar and register for your next IELTS exam accordingly and don’t forget to register your seat for the IELTS exam as soon as possible.
In both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training versions, Task 2 requires test takers to formulate and develop a position in relation to a given prompt in the form of a question or statement. Ideas should be supported by evidence, and examples may be drawn from the test takers’ own experience.
The British Council Nigeria offers IELTS tests in 11 locations: Lagos, Ilorin, Akure, Abeokuta, Enugu, Kano, Abuja, Benin City, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Ibadan, with up to 5 test dates per month. IELTS General Training is for test takers who wish to migrate to an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK), and for those wishing to train or study at below degree level.
The IELTS Test Fee Scholarship covers full fee payment of an IELTS exam as per British council, AEO or any other IELTS test-taking organization rates. The full fee of an IELTS exam will be paid in the bank account of the successful candidates within 45 days of the final result declaration.
The Speaking test will still be face-to-face with a trained IELTS Examiner, as this is the most effective way to assess your speaking skills. With computer-delivered IELTS, you will now have more test dates to choose from - and your results will be available in 5-7 days.
IELTS Listening Test: The IELTS listening test will take about 30 minutes, and you will have an extra 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. The listening test is the same for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training modules.
These IELTS test dates 2020 are at the same time around the world, though the time obviously varies according to the country. The Academic Module is held at every session, but the General Training Module is not available every time. These are global test dates and the British Council IELTS test dates and IDP IELTS test dates are the same.
IELTS Reading test (60 minutes) The IELTS Reading test requires you to answer 40 questions and is designed to test you on an array of reading skills. You would have to read for gist, main ideas, details, logical arguments, skimming, and figuring out the writers’ attitudes, opinions and intentions.

IELTS test date confirmation You will receive a confirmation email approximately 5-10 days before the test date giving you the start time of your test and the venue address. Your Speaking test may be scheduled on the same day as the other sections, or on a different day within a 7-day window before or after your main test day.

To protect the health of IELTS test takers in light of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), IELTS tests have been suspended at the University of Nottingham until 11 July 2020.
